Service and Repair

At M & P Survey Equipment Ltd we are immensely proud of the reputation we have built up over many years servicing and repairing all makes of optical, laser and electronic surveying equipment.

With increasing use of software controlled servicing it is vital that your equipment is serviced by an approved service facility. It is for this reason that we have made a considerable investment in the latest technology, calibration ranges, service dongle's and software combined with a continuous training programme mostly undertaken at the Leica Geosystems Ltd., factory in Heerbrugg, Switzerland.

This investment has enabled Leica Geosytems Ltd to appoint us as the First Survey and Engineering dealer in the North of England (one of only three on the UK mainland). We carry out warranty repairs, full service, and re-build of the very latest Leica Geosystems products including the new TPS1200 range.

"With our many years of experience in servicing and maintaining Leica Geosystems equipment, we are able to offer fast and accurate diagnosis of any problems to enable you to get back on site as quickly as possible." Martin Haunch, Service Manager.

All our personnel are factory trained which is continually being updated. The technicians background is varied with many of them working for several different manufacturers including Leica Geosystems, Sokkia, Spectra Physics and Nikon. In addition to this specific training they obviously have a great deal of knowledge of other surveying equipment.

Every instrument which goes through our service facility is entered onto the maintenance database which can individually track the work which has been carried out on a particular instrument. This system will also send out reminder letters when calibration is due. Each instrument is inspected and if more work is required than indicated by yourselves you will be notified prior to any work being carried out. Work will only be carried out once authorisation has been obtained from your nominated member of staff.

Once inspection is complete a calibration certificate is produced in compliance with BS EN ISO 9002. A copy of this certificate is kept for our records with the original staying with the instrument. If your records require it, we can also send a copy for your attention. All work carried out on a particular instrument is detailed on the instrument repair report.

During 2007 our service facility, trade counter and stores were fully refurbished to increase capacity and provide an environment geared towards maintaining and servicing today's high-tech instrumentation.
